The ‘Missions Statement’ is the statement which describes the purpose for which the Heritage Baptist Church of Berwick, Pennsylvania, exists. This statement answers the question: What are we suppose to be doing for the glory of God? The answer to that question can only be found in Christ’s last words to his disciples, which is recorded for us in Matthew’s gospel, the twenty-eighth chapter and nineteenth and twentieth verses found in God’s Word. Therefore, the mission of this church is to by the power of God, turn unbelieving, unchurched people into committed disciples of Jesus Christ for the glory of God.
We seek to fulfill Christ’s ‘Great Commission’ to Develop Committed Disciples by Reaching People with the Gospel of Christ and Training them to Lovingly Serve Him.
It is our ‘Core Values’ are the foundation upon which we have built our ‘Missions Statement’. We believe passionately in these values because they are reflections of what we believe the New Testament church at Jerusalem valued.
